I.
when the moonbeams spill
on the window sill
the light in her eyes
it intensifies
and her love does pour
like the rains do pour
so my cold heart grows
from that single rose
of the love she brings
it shows me things
that i didn’t know
existed as so
with that i see
her true beauty
so i write to say
each and ev’ry day
that i’ll love you more
than the day before
II.
but it would soon fade away
‘cause she threw it all away
left me in the rain
full of all this pain
and i did see
the love in me
would soon not be
for her from me
now it’s so cold
so black and bold
inside of me
my travesty
now i write to say
each and ev’ry day
i despise you more
than the day before
III.
all i have to say
is it’s faded away
i forgive you now
like i should have then
and i write to say
each and ev’ry day
i’ve moved on some more
than the day before
